ARTIST BIO
Jennifer Columbus is a self-taught Interdisciplinary artist, with a concentration in Abstract Expressionism. She has a background in Art Therapy, both as a student and teacher, and it’s exemplified in many of her paintings. Jenny first discovered art as a child and always knew she wanted to be an Artist. Art and creating has always been a focal point and constant in her life. Her professional Career began when she met her now husband, Paul Columbus back in 2014. Together they decided to put their art out there and began to show at festivals and Art-Walks in the Orlando Area. This was the spark that started Jenny’s burgeoning art career.
She has exhibited work all over central Florida and has been featured in prominent Orlando establishments such as Waldorf Astoria, Grand Bohemian, The Foreigner Restaurant, Mennello Museum of Art and others. Jenny’s artwork has been collected by all types of people and age demographics, which is a point of pride, and speaks to the universal appeal her work has. She now has many sold paintings that reside all over the country.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Being an artist was limitless I thought, it allowed me to let my Imagination run wild as I dreamed about the possibilities. I then realized that if I were an artist no one could ever tell me how or what to create. There were no rules or limits. Once I realized the freedom in that, I began forward without knowing how I would make that happen but more Importantly, I knew why."
