Abstract expressionism & stream of consciousness 2014- current
As far back as I can remember I’ve enjoyed the process of creating, whether it was drawing, coloring, painting or otherwise. Before I discovered paint I’d paint with my nail polish. Being creative always came naturally to me and even more importantly I always thoroughly enjoyed the way the concept of time didn’t exist when creating. The only thing that existed when creating was the present moment, mesmerized in every moment, every brush stroke, every color combination made. I have always used painting to connect to my truest self. When painting I tap into my stream of consciousness and let go of all beliefs of what I want to make which allows what is meant to be to manifest.
This is why each painting I make is not only original but also truly one of a kind. I’m influenced by the tools I have around me much like the inspiring masters that came before me. Jackson Pollock was a huge influence on my style of art because I identified with the way he would go with the flow and use the tools he had available. Over time I have developed an intuitive feel for the materials around me and use them in a way to convey emotions and feelings I’m experiencing at the time. Music is a large influence on my work as well, always having music on while creating, greatly steering the creations in different directions. Oftentimes when I’m painting, I feel as if my hands are dancing along to the sounds and rhythms being heard and felt.

Self-Love Series 2019-current
Body image has always been a topic that’s interested me. I began creating this series to get out of my comfort zone and open conversations about body image and self-love.
I, like many, have always been attracted to the beauty of the female form. I considered it somewhat taboo to paint nude bodies and once I started creating them, I found it very liberating. Since I paint using feeling and emotion I start with the loose sketch of the bodies and then add color where emotion evokes it. This series was especially important to me for I have always struggled finding the balance in which to love myself physically and emotionally. This series also mixes a more illustrative side to my work while still being able to create from the subconscious.

Flowers and Faces 2020-current
This series was largely inspired by my partner and soulmate Paul Columbus. His well-known series Phantom Faces were a unique creation of his using one line contour drawing to create these faces free of sex, race, or religion. We often paint side by side in our at home studio which influenced me to start drawing my own one-line contour drawings. Flowers and nature have always been a large inspiration for me as I can still enter a flow state while drawing them. My work is in many ways childlike in the sense of bright happy colors painted with no limitations. The faces inspired by Paul are often mixed with flowers and elements of nature. My newest work infuses all these series together.

Palette paintings / sculpture paintings 2019- current
I have always been drawn to textures in artwork and in everyday life. Often noticing the textures in the pavement or carvings in a tree. This love for texture inspired a palette like painting series where I incorporate fabric and other materials around me at the time of creating. The fabric and paper on canvas is one of my favorite materials to add to the canvas because it creates a sculpture on canvas. I start with no color and just mod podge and fabric as I throw the paper and fabric around until a desired shape has taken place. Once this dries, I begin painting it and adding color. These paintings often take the longest to finish, some are painted for several years at a time changing over time.
